Indexing Title: MJCABAHUG’s Medical Anecdotal Report [04-4]

MAR Title: Inspiration

Date of Medical Observation:  June 2004

Narration:

Everybody experience depression. Three weeks ago, I experience this.  I felt tired to continue my residency training. Though I have a wife and a beautiful daughter, I felt alone. The reason is that they are staying in the province and not here in Manila.

I thought of resigning from the training and go back to the province to be with them. Many of my friends objected and suggested instead for me to take a vacation to think about it, which I did.

I met a former patient of mine there and asked me about my training. I told her that I would soon quit. She patted me on the back and said “you should think of the reason why you sought training”. We would be very happy if the next time I see you, you are done with your training.

Insights (Discovery, Stimulus, REINFORCEMENT):

It is so nice to hear encouragements, this makes us to move on.  But in life, to be able to persevere, you should always remember the reason why you’re doing something.  There are two important virtues to have to be able to fulfill anybody’s dream, patience and perseverance.
